Job summary

The Tides Inn is a waterfront luxury resort in Irvington, Virginia seeking a Server (Food & Beverage - Resort) to deliver elevated dining experiences. You will provide attentive, polished service, guide guests through menus, and uphold Forbes-level standards across service roles.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years in upscale dining, strong communication, and a passion for regional cuisine and hospitality storytelling. Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays is required.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years in upscale or fine dining service
• Strong communication skills with a polished and professional demeanor
• Knowledge of elevated service standards, table etiquette, and dining room operations
• Interest in regional cuisine, wine, and hospitality storytelling
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
• Ability to lift and carry trays or equipment up to 50 pounds
• High School Diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Regular and reliable attendance.
• Delivers refined, attentive service ensuring guests feel welcomed and valued.
• Guides guests through menu offerings with confidence, including local ingredients and Chesapeake stories.
• Delivers food and beverages with accuracy and proper service etiquette across FOH roles.
• Maintains cleanliness, organization, and readiness of all service areas.
• Communicates effectively with Captains, Servers, Server Assistants, FOH Captains, Baristas, and Culinary team members.
• Performs pre-shift meetings and stays updated on menu updates and service expectations.
• Maintains strong knowledge of menu items, sourcing, allergens, and preparation methods.
• Represents the Tides Inn brand through warm, thoughtful, and professional guest interactions.
