Job summary

The Grand Hyatt Indian Wells Resort and Villas is seeking a Purchasing Manager to lead resort-wide procurement operations. You will oversee sourcing, vendor relations, and inventory control in alignment with brand standards and budgets.

The role is hourly, overtime-eligible with a typical 45-hour week; you will be paid time and a half for overtime. The annual compensation ranges from $75K–$95K, with an hourly range of $30.50–$38.00 depending on schedule and experience.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years purchasing experience in hospitality or resort environments.
• Strong knowledge of hotel operations and supplier management.
• Proficiency in procurement systems and Microsoft Office; BirchStreet experience a plus.
• Exceptional organizational, analytical, and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee purchasing activities for the resort across departments (F&B, Housekeeping, Engineering, Spa).
• Ensure compliance with Hyatt procurement policies and local regulations.
• Develop relationships with vendors to negotiate pricing and terms.
• Monitor inventory levels and forecast purchasing needs to prevent shortages or overstocking.
• Process invoices and create purchase orders aligned with budget.
• Implement internal controls to prevent waste and fraud.
• Audit purchasing activities and supplier contracts regularly.
• Support budget planning and monthly reporting with Finance.
• Identify process improvements and sustainability opportunities.
• Lead a small team or collaborate cross-functionally.
