Job summary

Cabot Citrus Farms in Brooksville, FL, seeks a Housekeeping Supervisor to oversee daily operations, maintain luxury standards, and lead a team of housekeeping staff. The role requires prior supervisory experience in housekeeping, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work varied shifts including weekends. Florida driver's license is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of housekeeping supervisor experience; preferably at a high-end resort.
• Minimum of 3 years of housekeeping / public area experience.
• High school or equivalent education required – University degree or College diploma in Hospitality Management, an asset.
• Proficiency with computer software including Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, etc.
• Excellent ability to communicate, concisely, and openly in all interactions (verbal and written).
• Ability to exercise sound logic and judgment in evaluating situations and utilizing appropriate resources.
• Strong conflict resolution/management and decision-making skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage labor effectively.
• Effective training and facilitation abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to work with maximum accuracy, efficiency, and a high degree of attention to detail.
• Focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous always.
• Florida Driver’s License or ability to obtain one.
• Work flexible hours – weekends, evenings, and overtime as required.
• Excels in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintains Housekeeping department minimum standards. Responsible for the hiring, training, and supervision of property housekeeping staff. Prepares work schedule for staff.
• Plan, organize, and monitor staff activities to ensure compliance with quality assurance standards set by the Hotel, which requires continuous visual inspection of guestrooms.
• Complete the monthly quotas set of twice-yearly guestroom deep cleans and quarterly guestroom inspections.
• Evaluate the condition of furniture, fixtures, décor, etc. Make recommendations and assist in the coordination of rehab projects.
• Performs cleaning duties from time to time, when required in cases of emergency or staff shortage.
• Assists with the administration of the credit system, including employee scheduling to accommodate the business demands of the hotel.
• Assists with training of all housekeeper's attendants.
• Conducts daily audits of accommodations and public areas to ensure standards are maintained.
• Determines and reports the need for repairs or replacement of furniture or equipment and makes recommendations to the Executive Housekeeper.
• Makes recommendations to improve service and ensure more efficient operation.
• Sees that all housekeeping personnel are carrying out the duties assigned to them, as per the standards of the company.
• Models Cabot’s culture and exemplify our shared values on a day-to-day basis.
• Promotes teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments, particularly the Front Desk.
• Leads and trains Room Attendants and other Team Members to ensure their performance is to the expected Cabot standard.
• Plans and organizes all deep cleaning and cycle projects relating to guest accommodations.
• Supervises compliance with company policies and exercises performance management as needed.
• Ensures consistent adherence to Cabot standards through daily inspection of guest rooms, public areas, offices, and various storage areas throughout the hotel.
• Maintains the inventory of cleaning supplies, amenities, uniforms, and linen.
• Supervises and controls Lost and Found, maintains records, and liaises with the Front Desk to return packages to guests.
• Promotes teamwork within the department as well as a sense of fairness.
• Ensures that all staff in the housekeeping department know and understand safety procedures and effective reporting is maintained.
• Ensure all housekeeping staff are thoroughly familiar with the Hotel’s emergency procedures and is in a state of preparedness for any emergency that may occur.
• Contribute to pre-opening responsibilities, including other duties as assigned.
• Must be available to work a varied schedule as needed based on occupancy levels and department demands, including AM shifts, PM shifts, and weekends.
