Fairmont Grand Del Mar invites you to join our luxury hospitality team as Assistant Director of Housekeeping in San Diego. You will own daily housekeeping operations, organize shifts, supervise room inspections, and coach staff to uphold five-star standards in a dynamic environment.

Experience in a luxury setting and leadership in housekeeping are highly valued. Excellent English communication and basic Excel/Word skills are required; Spanish or Creole is a plus.

Qualifications

• Previous experience of one year a plus.
• College graduate or equivalent experience is preferred.
• Able to communicate in English well both verbally and written.
• Able to communicate in either Spanish or French Creole is preferred.
• Reading and counting is essential.
• Computer efficient in Excel and Word is preferred.
• Approximately five years in hotel housekeeping with at least two years in a leadership role.
• Experience in four or five star luxury environments preferred.
• Able to coach and develop employees and motivate by example.
• Aptitude to promote skills and maintain performance in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations for the housekeeping department.
• Organize morning and evening shifts and ensure teams are set for daily activities.
• Ensure daily room inspections are completed with follow-up.
• Assist with scheduling and training of housekeeping staff.
• Walk public areas to maintain 5-star standards.
• Assist with payroll and timely paperwork completion.
• Attend daily and weekly manager meetings and pre-conference meetings.
• Oversee laundry staff and day-to-day operations.
• Manage ordering and processing of housekeeping POs and inventory levels.
