Job summary

Fairmont Orchid in Hawaiʻi is seeking a Director of Housekeeping to lead luxury housekeeping, laundry, and public areas across the resort. You will shape service standards, manage budgets, and ensure guest satisfaction while maintaining regulatory compliance and staff engagement.

You will drive team leadership, collaboration with hotel departments, and ongoing training to uphold the resort’s prestigious standards and guest experience.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent hospitality leadership experience.
• Minimum five years progressive housekeeping leadership experience in a luxury hotel, resort, or comparable environment.
• Minimum three years managing large housekeeping operations.
• Demonstrated experience leading teams of 50+ colleagues.
• Strong knowledge of housekeeping, laundry, linen, public area, and quality assurance operations.
• Experience with Opera PMS, HotSOS, Alice, or similar hospitality systems.
• Strong understanding of LQA, and luxury hospitality standards.
• Knowledge of ADA compliance requirements and accessibility best practices.
• Excellent leadership, coaching, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to analyze budgets, labor reports, productivity metrics, and operational performance.

Responsibilities

• Direct housekeeping operations including guestrooms, public areas, laundry, uniforms, and back‑of‑house spaces.
• Develop staffing and operational plans based on occupancy forecasts and group levels.
• Ensure guestrooms are cleaned, inspected, and released per standards.
• Review VIP arrivals, group resumes, and housekeeping priorities daily.
• Collaborate with Front Office to maximize room availability and inventory accuracy.
• Oversee preventative maintenance communication with Engineering.
• Maintain par levels for linen, uniforms, and supplies.
• Monitor productivity, service delivery, and room turnaround efficiency.
• Lead daily operations meetings and communicate departmental priorities.
• Support tourism events, peak occupancy operations, and sustainability initiatives.
