Job summary

Tao Group Hospitality is hiring for a sommelier position at a new concept opening in a five-star hotel on Park Avenue in Manhattan's NoMad district. The role requires deep knowledge of wine lists, expert beverage pairing, and leadership in staff education.

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of sommelier experience or equivalent Tao Group Hospitality experience.
Certificate from an accredited wine program required.
Knowledge of wine regions, service techniques, temperatures, glassware, decanting.

Responsibilities

Anticipate and accommodate guests' needs.
Maintain cleanliness of assigned stations and venue.
Provide professional and exceptional service.
Enter all orders into the POS system.
Follow supervisor instructions and support coworkers as a team.
Possess in-depth knowledge of wine menus and Tao Group Hospitality venues.
Lead staff education sessions and wine service.
Serve alcoholic beverages in compliance with state regulations and training standards.
Attend pre-service meetings and training sessions.
