Job summary

Gracious Hospitality Management is looking for a skilled Chef Sommelier to manage the wine program at their new project, 550 Madison in New York City. The role involves providing exceptional service, effectively managing wine sales, and maintaining relationships with customers.

The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of wine laws, superb communication skills, and experience in a fast-paced environment. Competitive compensation and generous benefits are offered.

Qualifications

  • Must have the ability to read, speak, and understand English.
  • Ability to execute steps of service in adherence to company policy.
  • Certification for responsible alcohol service or ability to obtain within 6 months.

Responsibilities

  • Assists Beverage and Management teams on the wine program.
  • Coaches the sommelier team and maintains wine service standards.
  • Develops and drives wine programs and promotions.

Skills

Knowledge of major regional wine laws
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
Ability to perform under pressure
Attention to detail
Communication skills

Education

WSET Level 3 or higher or CMS Certified Sommelier preferred
Food Handler’s Certification
