Job summary

The Elser Hotel & Residences - Miami is seeking an Engineer, Level 2 to ensure the property remains in peak condition with minimal guest disruption. Responsibilities include HVAC repairs, plumbing work, electrical maintenance, and supervising junior engineering staff when needed.

Qualifications include a high school diploma and hotel experience; strong reading of blueprints, and ability to work varied hours. Compliance with safety and hotel standards is essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent and/or one year of hotel experience required.
• At least two years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
• Trade school and/or College coursework in related field preferred.
• Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
• Heavy work requiring lifting, pushing, and carrying.
• Maintains a warm and friendly demeanor with guests and staff.
• Able to read and interpret blueprints and wiring diagrams.
• Attend required meetings and trainings.

Responsibilities

• Make repairs to hotel air conditioning system; change filters and motors.
• Perform preventive maintenance on boilers, chillers, HVAC, electrical, etc.
• Take readings on equipment and test cooling towers.
• Replace and program televisions; repair lighting and fixtures.
• Repair pumps, plumbing, and sheetrock; finish wall coverings.
• Read blueprints and wiring diagrams; ensure code compliance.
• Inspect and maintain pools and spas; document maintenance.
• Assist in supervising other engineering staff and scheduling tasks.
