Job summary

Highgate Hotels is seeking a Housekeeping Coordinator at The Elser Hotel & Residences in Downtown Miami. The role administers housekeeping functions in assigned sections and may perform Housekeeping Manager duties in their absence.

Responsibilities include inspecting staff performance, maintaining records, managing VIP rooms, and ensuring guest satisfaction while upholding hotel standards. Strong communication and supervisory skills are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2-3 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
• Previous supervisory responsibility preferred.
• Ability to stand during entire shift.
• Must communicate effectively with staff and guests.

Responsibilities

• Inspect housekeeping performance within assigned section daily to ensure standards.
• In absence of supervisors, oversee VIP rooms and report availability to Front Office.
• Oversee daily floor closing, ensuring carts are clean and restocked.
• Maintain records of daily assignments and submit on time.
• Maintain key control and security of areas.
• Handle Lost and Found items per standards.
• Monitor cleanliness and order in carts, linen closets, closets, stairs, and landings.
• Assign daily duties to Room Attendants and House Attendants.
• Carry pager/radio to stay in contact with Front Office/Engineering.
• Report progress of out-of-order rooms to Guest Services Manager.
