Job summary

The Elser Hotel & Residences in Downtown Miami is seeking a detail‑oriented Housekeeping Coordinator to administer and coordinate housekeeping functions, and to stand in for the Housekeeping Manager when needed. This role supports smooth operations in a luxury setting and requires strong organizational skills.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–3 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
• Previous supervisory responsibility preferred.
• Ability to stand during entire shift.
• Effective communication with all levels of employees and guests.

Responsibilities

• Inspect Room Attendant’s work performance within assigned section daily.
• In absence of Housekeeping Manager, inspect VIP rooms and report availability to Front Office.
• Oversee closing of floors and restocking of carts.
• Maintain records of daily assignments and submit to Housekeeping Office on time.
• Maintain key control and assist with Lost and Found procedures.
• Monitor cleanliness of carts, linen closets, control closets, stairways and landings.
• Oversee daily assignment of duties for Room Attendants and House Attendants.
• Carry pager/radio to stay in contact with Front Office/Engineering.
• Report progress of out-of-order rooms to Guest Services Manager per standards.
• Initiate work orders for repairs and follow through to completion.
• Assist with training of Housekeeping staff.
• May be required to clean rooms as needed.
• Ensure completion of cleaning projects biannually.
