Highgate Hotels L.P. in Miami seeks an Engineering Manager to lead the engineering department of the luxury E11EVEN Club Hotel & Residences.

You will oversee daily operations, ensure safety, reliability, and peak performance of all systems, and drive preventative maintenance and energy initiatives. You’ll manage budgets, supervise staff, coordinate with vendors, and uphold brand standards across property infrastructure, delivering exceptional guest experiences through precise engineering

Qualifications

• 3+ years of supervisory or lead mechanic experience in a hotel or related field.
• Stationary Engineer’s license if required by local regulations.
• Strong technical expertise in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, boiler operations, and general maintenance.
• High school diploma or equivalent; advanced technical training preferred.
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 100 lbs occasionally, 50 lbs frequently).
• Proven ability to lead teams, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a professional, service-oriented approach.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily engineering operations, ensuring all property systems, equipment, and grounds are maintained to the highest standards of safety and performance.
• Assist in developing and implementing plans for preventative maintenance and asset preservation.
• Ensure full compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as ADA requirements.
• Supervise, train, and motivate engineering staff in customer service, safety protocols, and standard operating procedures.
• Create and manage departmental schedules, budgets, and financial forecasts; participate in monthly profit/loss reviews.
• Implement and monitor emergency and life safety systems, ensuring inspections and certifications meet brand standards.
• Lead energy conservation initiatives and sustainability programs.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and alarms, taking immediate action to resolve issues.
• Review guest feedback and ensure timely resolution of any engineering-related concerns.
• Manage vendor contracts and oversee special projects or renovations as needed.
• Actively participate in safety committees and support all property-wide programs.
