Job summary

La Bahia Hotel & Spa seeks a Maintenance Engineer who enjoys problem-solving and attention to detail. This role ensures the property's flawless functioning, keeping systems from climate controls to elevators operating seamlessly while preserving the Spanish-Mediterranean luxury that defines our beachfront hotel.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of hotel/maintenance engineering experience; luxury hotel or resort preferred.
• Experience with commercial HVAC systems: diagnosis, repair & preventative maintenance.
• Experience with commercial kitchen equipment repair and maintenance.
• Must speak and communicate in English; good interpersonal skills required.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and stand/walk/kneel for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Inspect, maintain, and repair kitchen equipment (ranges, ovens, fryers, refrigeration, dishwashers, vents).
• Perform routine and emergency HVAC servicing and diagnostics.
• Respond promptly to guest room maintenance requests with minimal disruption.
• Maintain building systems to luxury hotel standards (BMS, fire systems, elevators).
• Test and treat pool/spa water; service guest room amenities.
• Ensure silent operation of equipment and preserve architectural details.
• Follow safety regulations and maintain maintenance documentation.
• Collaborate with housekeeping and Food & Beverage to minimize disruption.
