Job summary

The Warbler Hotel in New Orleans is seeking a Barista for Milly's Café to deliver exceptional espresso, hospitality, and a refined all-day counter experience. You will balance beverage standards with pastries, breakfast, lunch items, and hotel guest needs, while engaging guests with approachable product knowledge.

Responsibilities include dialing in espresso, preparing beverages, latte art, and coordinating with pastry and kitchen teams.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent must be possessed.
Six months of specialty-coffee, high-volume café, restaurant, or comparable beverage-service experience.
Ability to follow recipes, operate POS systems, handle cash accurately, and work safely with hot equipment.
Availability for early mornings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

Dial in espresso at opening and during service, adjusting grind, dose, yield, and extraction time.
Prepare espresso beverages, brewed coffee, tea, and seasonal drinks to recipes and standards.
Produce latte art and maintain drink quality, speed, and accuracy.
Describe roasts, producers, and flavor profiles to guests in accessible language.
Maintain clean, stocked workstation and coordinate with pastry/kitchen for timely service.
