Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced Estimator for a luxury residential builder in San Francisco. You will turn drawings and specs into precise cost estimates from concept to hard bid, and coordinate with preconstruction, project management, and field teams to ensure estimates reflect real-world goals.

You will perform detailed takeoffs, build cost breakdowns, and identify value engineering opportunities, delivering credible numbers and tight bid packages.

Qualifications

• Experience estimating in residential construction, preferably high-end or luxury.
• Ability to read architectural and structural drawings, specs, and scopes.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods and current market costs.
• Proficiency with estimating software and spreadsheets.
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines with a collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

• Turn drawings, specs, and ideas into accurate cost estimates from budgets to final bids.
• Run takeoffs and build cost breakdowns for labor, materials, equipment and subs.
• Analyze drawings to map scope and cost drivers.
• Gather and evaluate subcontractor bids to prevent omissions.
• Collaborate with preconstruction, PM, and field teams to align estimates with goals.
• Identify value-engineering opportunities and flag risks early.
• Refine cost data and unit costs for tighter estimates.
• Assist in shaping proposals and present numbers clearly.
