Job summary

Ultimate Staffing seeks an experienced Estimator to support preconstruction by preparing budgets, cost estimates, bids, and proposals for commercial construction projects in San Francisco. You will collaborate with project teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure accurate costing and successful project planning.

The role requires reviewing drawings and specifications, developing budgets, and assisting with bid preparation.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred.
2+ years of construction estimating experience, ideally with a general contractor.
Strong understanding of construction plans, budgeting, scheduling, and contract administration.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Experience with construction software such as Procore, Primavera P6, BuildingConnected, Destini, and Microsoft Office is a plus.

Responsibilities

Prepare detailed cost estimates and quantity takeoffs.
Review drawings, specifications, and project documents for accuracy and completeness.
Develop project budgets and assist with bid and proposal preparation.
Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to obtain pricing and scope information.
Participate in preconstruction, client, and project team meetings.
Support schedule development, procurement planning, and project buyout activities.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and provide value engineering recommendations.
