Job summary

The Hay-Adams, a five-star luxury hotel in downtown Washington, DC, seeks a courteous Concierge to welcome guests and provide transportation, sightseeing, and dining recommendations. The on-duty concierge will guide lobby activity, assist with reservations, and coordinate with Front Desk to ensure seamless service.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, 2–3 years in a luxury property, fluent English, and a calm, professional telephone manner.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; luxury property experience preferred.
• Must have good knowledge of English; clear telephone voice.
• Second language preferred.
• Ability to stand for long periods and work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Receive and log all faxes and ensure timely delivery to guests.
• Receive and log all packages (UPS/Federal Express) and deliver to guests promptly.
• Assist guests with restaurant reservations and provide reservation cards.
• Guide guests on driving directions and relay them to the appropriate department.
• Field calls for Housekeeping/Engineering and communicate requests clearly across departments.
• Balance the Concierge bank daily and support Front Desk as needed.
