Bergdorf Goodman, a premier luxury retailer in New York City, seeks a professional Host to be the first point of contact for guests at our restaurant. You will help manage reservations, seating, and guest flow with a polished, discreet presence in a luxury dining environment.

The ideal candidate will have hostess or front-of-house experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to stay composed in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Previous hostess or front-of-house experience preferred; luxury or fine dining experience a plus.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to remain calm and poised in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with reservation systems (OpenTable) preferred.
• Flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, and peak retail hours.

Responsibilities

• Greet all guests warmly and professionally upon arrival, reflecting the Bergdorf Goodman brand and service standards
• Manage reservations, waitlists, and guest seating to ensure optimal dining flow
• Communicate effectively with servers, managers, and kitchen staff regarding table status and guest needs
• Maintain an organized and elegant host stand and entrance area
• Accommodate special guest requests whenever possible with discretion and professionalism
• Monitor dining room activity to ensure guest comfort and service efficiency
• Answer phone calls, manage inquiries, and provide accurate wait-time information
• Support opening and closing duties as assigned
