Job summary

Brobston Group LLC seeks a Design Director in Los Angeles to partner with the founder and lead the execution of ideas across product, packaging, gifting, visual merchandising, and special projects. This on-site role shapes a growing luxury business, building a design function and defining how the company expresses itself across objects and spaces.

The role requires 10+ years in design leadership, a multidisciplinary portfolio, and a practical, solutions-oriented approach to delivering concepts

Qualifications

• 10+ years of design experience spanning product, packaging, and retail environments.
• Experience in luxury, fashion, jewelry, beauty, or related consumer categories.
• Ability to turn rough concepts into finished, produced objects or experiences.
• Strong 3D design sensibility with materials, form, fabrication knowledge.
• Experience sourcing, negotiating with manufacturers and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the founder to translate early-stage concepts into fully realized design outcomes.
• Lead design across product, packaging, gifting, visual merchandising, and collaborations.
• Own the design process from initial concept discussions to prototyping, vendor development, and final production.
• Develop packaging and object solutions with new materials and fabrication methods.
• Balance long-range initiatives with fast-turn requests to meet business needs.
• Collaborate across product development, marketing, retail, and sales to support goals.
• Evaluate in-store presentation and customer experience to improve impact.
• Manage junior creative talent and help define future team structure.
