Job summary

Braswell & Son Pawnbrokers is seeking a full-time team member in Tennessee to welcome clients, learn their needs, and help them find jewelry, watches, and designer handbags. You will write pawn loans clearly, train on inspection methods, and uphold privacy and high standards.

Base pay is $16–$20 per hour with commissions and bonuses. Spanish language skills are a plus. Applicants should be able to stand most shifts and lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• Sales or client service experience in luxury retail or services.
• A steady work history; 2+ years in a recent role preferred.
• Eagerness to learn and grow in the role.
• Warmth, honesty, and a professional presence.

Responsibilities

• Greet each client with full attention and assess needs.
• Assist clients in finding the right piece of jewelry, watches, or handbags.
• Sell luxury items with confidence and explain pawn loans clearly.
• Document transactions accurately and protect client information.
• Conduct item tests and inspections using approved methods; training provided.
• Build client relationships to encourage repeat visits.
• Maintain privacy and high standards of service.

$16 to $20 per hour, based on experience, plus commission, productivity pay, and spiffs

We are not a typical pawn shop.

Braswell & Son has been a family-owned luxury pawnbroker since 1979. We started as one jewelry store in Little Rock. Today we have eight stores across Arkansas and Tennessee. We sell fine jewelry, luxury watches, and designer handbags, and we lend on them.

What makes us different is this: a client buying a diamond ring and a client pawning a cordless drill get the same high-end experience. They get the same warm welcome, the same respect, and the same expert care.

What You Will Do

• Welcome every client and give them your full attention.
• Learn what each client needs, then help them find the right piece.
• Sell fine jewelry, watches, and designer handbags with confidence.
• Write pawn loans with care. Explain every term in plain language, with no judgment.
• Test and inspect items using our approved methods. We will train you.
• Keep every transaction accurate and every client’s information private.
• Build relationships so clients come back and ask for you by name.

What We Are Looking For

• Sales or client service experience. Luxury retail, jewelry, banking, hospitality, and high-end resale backgrounds all fit well.
• A steady work history, ideally two or more years in a recent role. If you have a gap for caregiving, school, or military service, tell us. It counts.
• A love of learning. You want to build your skills and your career.
• Warmth and honesty. Clients trust you with things that matter to them.
• A polished, professional presence.

Nice to Have (Not Required)

• Jewelry knowledge, like gold testing or diamond grading. If you love jewelry but haven’t worked with it, we’ll teach you.
• Fluent in English and Spanish.

Requirements

• 18 or older
• Able to pass a background check
• Complete pawn compliance training
• Able to stand for most of a shift and lift up to 50 pounds, with help for larger items. Reasonable accommodations are available.
• Comfortable with computers and a point-of-sale system
• Available to work Mondays - Saturdays until 6:30, while starting at 8:00am.
