Job summary

Highgate Hotels in New York is seeking a Complex Director of Beverage to lead the beverage operation across outlets, ensuring service excellence while controlling payroll and costs. You will drive revenue growth and mentor the beverage team in a luxury, lifestyle hotel setting.

The role requires at least 5 years as a Director of Food and Beverage in a comparable operation, strong P&L and analytical skills, and outstanding communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent preferred.
• 5+ years’ experience as Director of Food & Beverage in a similar size/operation.
• Luxury/lifestyle hotel/resort background required.
• Pre-opening experience a plus.
• Excellent communication skills; ability to present information to customers, clients and colleagues.
• Must be service oriented and able to multi-task; knowledge of F&B operations and health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring profitability of the Food & Beverage department, maximizing revenue and controlling costs.
• Work cohesively with departmental managers to create revenue opportunities through activations, beverage enhancements, and refreshed concepts.
• Collaborate with property Director of Sales on marketing, events, and catering opportunities to grow income stream.
• Maintain and improve beverage service standards to consistently meet and exceed guest expectations.
• Lead departmental managers in overseeing staff training and development, in partnership with Human Resources.
• Monitor guest feedback and take corrective action; review results with colleagues and implement actions.
• Complete beverage menu analysis to remain market-relevant and profit-driven.
• Monitor trends of competitive bars and hotel banquet departments to drive profitability.
• Handle all guest complaints, requests, and inquiries relative to beverage service.
• Conduct monthly F&B meetings and daily briefings with outlet managers and supervisors.
• Identify and develop talents within the team for future growth.
• Lead by example with Highgate Hotels values and brand standards.
