Job summary

Mercedes-Benz of San Francisco is seeking a Parts Advisor to support technicians by selecting required parts, advising on specials, and handling inquiries with courtesy and professionalism.

You will manage part orders, verify pricing against estimates, escalate out-of-stock items, and coordinate delivery to the body shop, ensuring accurate invoicing and smooth operations across the parts department.

Qualifications

• Automotive industry experience preferred.
• 1–3 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Intermediate Excel proficiency.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Able to work independently with minimal direction.
• Ability to prioritize duties to meet deadlines.
• Must pass pre-employment drug test and background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist technicians in selecting required parts in a friendly, professional and efficient manner.
• Explain companion part requirements and specials and expose customers to the full product line.
• Answer phone calls, provide price quotes and other information.
• Review body shop estimates to ensure correct parts and pricing alignment.
• Pull and fill orders from stock and notify parts manager of out-of-stock items.
• Locate out-of-stock parts from outside sources and submit emergency orders if needed.
• Notify service advisor and customer when special ordered parts arrive and coordinate delivery to body shop.
• Maintain accurate records of repair orders, invoices, insurance estimates and special-order parts.
• Set up orders for daily shipment, delivery or pick-up and assist outside sales representatives.
