Job summary

The Rose Gaming Resort in Dumfries, VA seeks a Prep Cook to support the food and beverage department by preparing ingredients and assisting with cooking tasks.

Responsibilities include keeping the kitchen clean, ensuring stock, washing dishes, parboiling, seasoning and preparing ingredients, and setting out items before shifts. Requires basic culinary knowledge and ability to stand 8+ hours.

Qualifications

• Must possess basic culinary knowledge and ability to follow directions.
• Stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Virginia Racing Commission License is required.

Responsibilities

• Keep the kitchen clean and orderly.
• Ensure ingredients are in stock for the Chef to complete the menu.
• Wash cutlery and dishes.
• Parboil foods to support efficient meal prep.
• Season and prepare ingredients for cooking.
• Prepare salads or other less complex menu items.
• Set out all ingredients before each shift and refill as necessary.
