Job summary

Banner University Medical Center Phoenix seeks an experienced board-certified thoracic surgeon to build and lead a new lung transplant program. The role includes shaping clinical protocols, forming a multidisciplinary team, and establishing referral networks with UNOS certification support.

Ideal candidates will have fellowship training in thoracic surgery, lung transplant experience, and a vision to serve patients across the Southwest.

Qualifications

• American Board of Surgery & American Board of Thoracic Surgery certified or eligible.
• Experience teaching residents, fellows, and medical students in an academic/research setting.
• Expertise in general thoracic surgery with lung transplant and minimally invasive/robotic techniques.

Responsibilities

• Lead and build a new lung transplant program.
• Shape clinical protocols, multidisciplinary team, and referral network.
• Pursue UNOS certification backed by an academic medical center.

Minimum Qualifications

• American Board of Surgery & American Board of Thoracic Surgery certified or eligible
• Desire to practice within an academic and research setting, including teaching residents, fellows, and medical students
• All aspects of general thoracic surgery with lung transplant
• Experience in minimally invasive and robotic techniques
• Experienced Clinical Faculty and Graduating Thoracic Surgeons with interests in clinical academic practice are encouraged to apply
