Job summary

Banner University Medical Center Phoenix seeks a board-certified thoracic surgeon to build and lead a new lung transplant program. This role shapes protocols, team structure, and referral networks within Arizona's largest health system, with an academic appointment available through the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Phoenix.

Qualifications

• Board-certified in surgery or eligible in thoracic surgery.
• Academic setting with teaching residents, fellows, and medical students.
• Expertise in general thoracic surgery with lung transplant.
• Experience in minimally invasive and robotic techniques.
• Experienced faculty and junior thoracic surgeons encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and growth of a new lung transplant program.
• Define clinical protocols and multidisciplinary team structure.
• Build referral networks and pursue UNOS certification.
• Provide academic appointment and participate in teaching.
• Support relocation and competitive compensation discussions.
