Job summary

UNC Health Care is seeking a responsible RN to join the Oncology Nurse Navigator team in the Early Detection Lung Cancer Program. You will guide patients through their cancer care journey and coordinate care from diagnosis to survivorship.

The role requires an RN with oncology experience, BSN preferred (or ADN with BSN plan), NC licensure, and eligibility for Oncology Certified Nurse or Navigator certification within 3 years.

Qualifications

• BSN from a state-accredited school of professional nursing.
• In lieu of bachelor’s degree, ADN with BSN enrollment within 4 years and BSN completion within 7 years.

Responsibilities

• Ensure continuity of communication between a patient’s care providers (within and outside UNCHCS).
• Provide oncology nurse navigator continuing education and participate in program leadership.
• Interview patients regarding health practices, document nursing care needs, and coordinate referrals and scheduling of tests.
