Job summary

UNC Health in Chapel Hill, NC is seeking an experienced RN Oncology Nurse Navigator to join the Early Detection Lung Cancer Program. You will guide patients through their cancer care journey as part of an interdisciplinary team and help coordinate transitions from inpatient to outpatient care.

The role emphasizes patient-centered care, education, and timely access to diagnostic tests, treatment planning, and survivorship planning.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in North Carolina.
• Oncology nursing experience preferred.
• Oncology Nurse Navigator certification or willingness to obtain within 3 years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Ensure continuity of communication between patient's care providers within UNC Health and external partners.
• Pursue continuing education relevant to Nurse Navigator role.
• Interview patients to assess health practices, document findings, and coordinate care across services.
• Provide program leadership and coordinate scheduling of tests, labs, imaging, and referrals.
