Job summary

Blue Origin LLC in the Seattle area seeks a Fluid and Propulsion Design Engineer III for the Lunar Permanence program. You will generate CAD models for propulsion fluid system hardware, define tube assemblies, and lead manufacturability efforts across flight and ground test articles.

Collaborating with NASA and national partners, you will manage propulsion system configuration, perform basic structural analysis, and release MBd drawings.

Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience designing tubes, fluid components, engine assemblies, and test rigs.
  • Experience generating 3D models and drawings in Creo for fluid assemblies.
  • Experience designing welded tube assemblies for aerospace systems and familiarity with aerospace standards.
  • Experience with large assemblies and basic structural analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Generate CAD models for propulsion fluid system hardware and tube assemblies for flight and ground testing.
  • Release Model Based Definition (MBE/MBD) of fluid assemblies and drawings, and perform drawing checks.
  • Lead design configuration management of the fluid and propulsion system for integration with the vehicle.
  • Coordinate interfaces with vehicle teams and develop joint design solutions.
  • Lead design for manufacturability of fluid components and perform basic structural analysis.
