Job summary

Domtar in Cross City, FL is seeking a full-time Utility to identify, tally, tag, and stage lumber units, while reading and following production orders. You will work with Lumber Pullers and other team members to maintain accurate inventory and ensure quality standards.

The position requires basic math and computer skills, a willingness to work a 10-hour shift, and the ability to communicate clearly with supervision. Domtar offers strong benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Ability to accurately tally, tag, placard and barcode lumber units.
• Communicate production order requirements to lumber pullers and others.
• Follow production orders per written/verbal requirements.
• Demonstrate knowledge of lumber grades and sizes.
• Demonstrate knowledge of quality standards for lumber.
• Understand RLS computer inventory system.

Responsibilities

• Accurately identify, tally, tag, placard and barcode lumber units as production orders require.
• Communicate production order requirements to Lumber Pullers and others as required.
• Comprehend and follow all production orders according to written/verbal requirements.
• Demonstrate ability to piece tally lumber units as needed.
• Demonstrate basic computer skills and basic math.
• Demonstrate knowledge of lumber grades, sizes, and grade marks.
• Follow safety rules and keep work area clean and hazard-free.
• Work effectively in a team environment on a 10-hour shift.
• Must be able to ascend/descend stairs and work around moving equipment.
