Choice Building Supply Ace Hardware is seeking an experienced Lumber & Building Materials Sales Associate to join our team in Cortez, CO. You will guide contractors and homeowners from ideas to complete material proposals, reading plans and preparing quotes to help customers select the right materials.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction, building materials, lumber sales or related building-industry position.
• Experience completing material takeoffs and project estimates.
• Ability to read and understand construction plans and blueprints.
• Comfortable using computers and learning new software.
• Strong math, organization, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with contractors, builders, and homeowners on building projects.
• Read building plans and prepare accurate material takeoffs and proposals.
• Estimate lumber and building-material quantities for residential and commercial projects.
• Prepare quotes and help customers compare products and options.
• Follow up on quotes, projects, orders, and customer needs.
• Build strong, long-term relationships with contractor and homeowner customers.
• Help customers select the right lumber, roofing, siding, insulation, hardware, and other building materials for their projects.
• Enter quotes, orders, and customer information accurately into our computer system.
• Coordinate with our lumberyard and delivery team to ensure orders are complete and ready when promised.
• Provide knowledgeable, friendly, and professional customer service from project start to completion.
