Job summary

ColonialWebb is seeking safety oriented Lull Operators to join our New Construction team in the Richmond area. You will operate a Lull and related equipment, following safety procedures and diagnostics to safely move materials and support underground piping work.

The role requires a high school diploma, OSHA/DOT awareness, and the ability to work flexible shifts including nights and weekends. Competitive hourly pay and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and DOT requirements.
• Ability to obtain VDOT flagger certification.

Responsibilities

• Safely and skillfully operate a Lull all-terrain telescopic forklift and related equipment.
• Follow safety procedures and load capacity limits when lifting and moving materials.
• Report equipment defects or damage to supervisor.
• Perform preventive maintenance to keep equipment in good condition.
• Train authorized personnel on proper operation of construction equipment.
• Assess ground conditions and obstructions before operating equipment.

We are hiring safety oriented Lull Operators to join our amazing New Construction team in the Richmond area. Lull/Equipment Operators work with specialized light construction equipment. They must be able to do this efficiently and safely. They must be able to dig or backfill trenches for underground piping systems The work requires considerable skill in manipulating equipment and constant focus in order to prevent accidents.

A day in the life:

• Safely and skillfully operate a Lull all-terrain telescopic forklift and other related construction equipment.
• Follow all appropriate safety procedures and load capacity limits when lifting, moving, and placing materials
• Report equipment defects, accidents or damage to supervisor
• Maintain equipment in proper operating condition by performing preventive maintenance tasks
• Train authorized personnel on the proper operation of construction equipment
• Visually assess ground conditions, travel paths, and overhead obstructions before operating equipment
• Comprehend and make inferences from written materials such as equipment operations manuals and load charts
• Make fine, highly controlled muscular movements to adjust the position of a control mechanism
• Determine necessary equipment repairs by perceiving malfunctions
• Load and unload construction materials on job sites from trucks into buildings

You should have:

• A high school diploma or equivalent
• Safe driving practices with various types of construction equipment
• Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and DOT requirements
• The ability to obtain VDOT flagger certification
• A understanding of traffic laws, ordinances and rules involved in construction equipment operation
• Ability to work a flexible work schedule to include varying shifts, short notice assignments, emergencies, nights, weekends and overtime (scheduled and unscheduled), as required
