Job summary

Princess Cruises and Holland America Line is seeking a Luggage Handler at the Holland America Denali Lodge. This seasonal-full-time role involves collecting, loading, and delivering luggage to guests, and supporting guest services during peak times to ensure smooth Alaska itineraries.

You will work in a fast-paced team, perform heavy lifting, and interact with guests to provide friendly, efficient service. The position offers on-site work with company housing where available and opportunities

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs / 23 kg and pass a pre-employment background check.
• Minimum age of 18 years to reside in company housing, where available.
• Eligible to work in the United States; sponsorship is not offered at this time.

Responsibilities

• Transfers luggage to and from guest rooms and loading areas.
• Organize, sort, tag, and label luggage daily.
• Heavy/constant lifting is required.
• Ensure safe storage and ticketing of guests' personal items.
• Greet guests and provide escort or transportation as needed.
• Deliver messages and guest amenities while providing courteous service.
• Assist with misplaced/damaged luggage.
• Communicate with supervisors via radio for updates.
• Assist front desk and housekeeping during peak times or events.
• Respond to alarms and emergencies per company policies.

Be the behind-the-scenes hero of every guest’s journey. As a Luggage Handler, you help ensure that each suitcase packed with care arrives safely at its destination. Working as part of a dynamic team, you’ll collect, load, and deliver luggage daily—playing a key role in launching unforgettable Alaskan adventures with ease and reliability.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Transfers luggage to and from guest rooms from loading areas and a variety of vehicles.
• Organize, sort, tallies, tag, and labels guest luggage daily.
• Heavy/Constant lifting is a core part of the job.
• Ensures safe storage and collects and distributes ticketing of guests' personal items and hand-carry luggage.
• Greet guests and provide escort or transportation to rooms and other locations as needed.
• Deliver messages, and guest amenities, and run errands while providing excellent customer service in a prompt and courteous manner.
• Assists with misplaced and damaged luggage.
• Communicates frequently with supervisors and other team members via radio for service or technical updates, requests, or concerns.
• Assist with guest service, front desk, and housekeeping duties during peak busy times and unexpected events, such as power outages.
• May respond to alarms and assist in the events of an emergency in accordance with company policies, procedures, and guidelines.

REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs./23kg.
• Must pass a pre-employment background check.
• Minimum age of 18 years is required to reside in company housing, where available.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States. Holland America-Princess is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time (e.g., H-2B status).

• Ability to organize and prioritize work, and maintain attention to time constraints, while working in a team or group environment.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and external influences.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while achieving daily goals.
• Ability to support and comply with company policies, procedures, and guidelines including support and comply with company health and safety standards.
• Ability to stand/walk/work on feet for a minimum of 8 hours per day.
