Job summary

Ridge Rock LLC - A Pave America company is hiring a Lube Technician to perform routine maintenance and servicing on construction equipment, trucks, and company vehicles. Work is primarily in the field with emphasis on safety, reliability, and independence.

The role requires CDL with HazMat endorsement, ability to operate manual transmission, and knowledge of heavy equipment. Candidates should be mechanically inclined and able to follow instructions in outdoor environments.

Qualifications

• CDL with HazMat endorsement required.
• Must be able to operate a manual-transmission vehicle.
• Previous experience servicing or maintaining construction equipment preferred.
• Knowledge and understanding of yellow iron/heavy construction equipment.
• Must have basic hand tools necessary to perform assigned maintenance tasks.
• Self-starter with good problem-solving skills.
• Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine lubrication and preventative maintenance on construction equipment, trucks, and vehicles.
• Service and maintain yellow iron, including excavators, loaders, dozers, graders, skid steers, rollers, and other heavy equipment.
• Check and service engine oil, hydraulic fluid, coolant, transmission fluid, grease, and other necessary fluids.
• Inspect equipment for leaks, worn components, damaged parts, and other potential maintenance issues.
• Identify and report mechanical problems or maintenance needs to the appropriate supervisor or mechanic.
• Perform routine inspections and basic repairs as assigned.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance, inspections, fluid changes, and services performed.
• Operate company vehicles and equipment safely and responsibly.
• Maintain and properly care for tools, service equipment, and company vehicles.
• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
• Keep work areas, service vehicles, and equipment clean and organized.

This position works primarily in the field and requires someone who is dependable, safety-conscious, mechanically inclined, and able to work independently.

Minimum Qualifications

• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with HAZMAT endorsement required.
• Must be able to operate a manual-transmission vehicle.
• Previous experience servicing or maintaining construction equipment preferred.
• Knowledge and understanding of yellow iron/heavy construction equipment.
• Must have basic hand tools necessary to perform assigned maintenance tasks.
• Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to identify common equipment maintenance issues.
• Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Must be a self-starter with good problem-solving skills.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.
• Must be able to frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, and reach.
• Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Must be able to safely work around heavy construction equipment, trucks, and machinery.
• Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull tools, parts, hoses, and equipment as required.
• Must have sufficient physical ability to safely perform the essential functions of the position.

This position is primarily performed in an outdoor construction environment and may involve working around heavy equipment, trucks, moving machinery, dirt, dust, grease, oils, fuels, and varying weather conditions. The Lube Technician must follow all applicable safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience as a lube technician, heavy equipment technician, diesel mechanic, fleet maintenance technician, or similar position.
• Experience working in asphalt, concrete, excavation, paving, or general construction.
• Familiarity with preventative maintenance schedules for heavy equipment.
• Basic understanding of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and heavy equipment maintenance.
• Welding or basic repair experience is a plus.
