Job summary

Curtis Contracting, Inc. is seeking a mechanically minded Service Technician to perform preventative maintenance and lube system repairs on heavy construction equipment on our job sites.

You will inspect machines, follow PM schedules, and interact with customers in a professional manner. Applicants should have 2–3 years of automotive/mechanical experience, a High School diploma or equivalent, and a valid driver’s license (CDL preferred).

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• Valid Driver’s License and safe driving record required, current CDL license
• 2-3+ years automotive/mechanical work experience; experience with Caterpillar, John Deere, Volvo, etc. preferred

Responsibilities

• Operate and inspect machines/equipment to access lubrication and PM services.
• Complete all services accurately, safely and in a timely manner to meet productivity goals.
• Review PM intervals and schedules to ensure proper maintenance.
• Safely operate and maintain company lube truck.
• Develop own work schedule and adjust for job needs.
• Must possess own tools and bring to job site.
• Must have a clean driving record and drive safely.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Overtime may be required as business needs dictate.

Job Description

Responsible for preventative maintenance service and lube system repairs on heavy construction equipment while maintaining positive interactions with customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Required to operate and inspect machines / equipment to gain access for lubrication and PM services.


• Complete all services accurately, safely and in a timely manner to meet productivity goals.


• Ability to review and understand the PM intervals and schedules


• Self-motivated, responsible, reliable, and willing to work in all weather conditions and environments.


• Positive attitude and work ethic along with excellent communication skills.


• Safely operate drive and maintain company lube truck.


• Continuously research and learn as required in order to improve knowledge and abilities as machine models change.


• Must possess own tools or willing to purchase tools


• Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry objects, use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue and to effectively jump, sprint or throw an object.


• Ability to develop own work schedule and adjust when needed to accommodate job needs.


• GED or equivalent and 2 to 3 years of related experience or combination of training and experience with Caterpillar, John Deere, Volvo, etc.


• Ability to comprehend safety, service, and parts manuals.


• Able to climb in, on, and around equipment, be flexible for awkward reaches and positions.


• Must be able to bring/own tools.


• Must have a clean driving record!


• Perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor


• Overtime (more than 40 hours per week) may be required at times as business needs dictate

Physical Requirements

Must meet physical requirements for the job, including the ability to lift, carry and maneuver items up to 70 pounds, including bulky objects. These positions require repeated reaching, standing, stooping, kneeling, bending and climbing inside, onto and under a variety of equipment. Must be able to work outside in inclement weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, dampness and humidity.
