Job Responsibilities:
- Performs oil changes and lubrication service for member and nonmember vehicles.
- Performs tire repairs and installation service for member and nonmember vehicles.
- Performs other minor repairs as assigned by Lead Tech or Service Advisor, according to their abilities.
- Assist upper level technicians as needed and for experience.
- Test drives vehicles when practical for any/all performance or drivability concerns before performing work.
- Retest drives after repairs to verify the issue is resolved.
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment; cleans spills and debris immediately to reduce hazards.
- Maintains company-provided equipment and machinery.
- Follows safety rules and regulations.
- Reports unsafe conditions to supervisor.
- Attends all required training and seeks additional training to improve skills.
- Keeps up to date on industry trends and repair procedures.
- Completes at least 12 hours of continuing auto repair training per year.
- Maintains customer vehicles regarding cleanliness; does not tune or adjust vehicle controls.
- Verifies correctness of ordered parts for assigned vehicles.
- Performs repairs according to MAP, OEM, or accepted industry standards.
- Performs digital inspections, documents findings thoroughly, and attaches photos/videos.
- Prioritizes comeback repairs as directed.
- Communicates effectively with team members and management.
- Ensures safety and accuracy of all repairs and inspections.
- Performs other duties as assigned, potentially including travel between locations.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Effective communication skills in required language(s).
- Strong organization, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work scheduled hours as needed.
- Proficiency with math, computers, and software applications.
- Customer service focus.
- Automotive/mechanical background.
- Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles.
- Knowledge of diagnostic and repair procedures.
- Maintains 20% productivity rate.
Education & Experience/ Licenses & Certifications
- High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
- Minimum six months experience in general repair, lube services, or tire shop.
Work Environment/Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Standing, bending, kneeling, pushing, reaching, climbing ladders.
- Exposure to loud noises.
