Job summary

Central Transport is seeking a Terminal Manager to lead dock operations at our Harrisburg terminal. You will oversee loading/unloading, forklift traffic, and palletized freight processes, while mentoring a staff of drivers and dock workers to meet KPI targets.

The ideal candidate has LTL management experience, strong leadership and communication skills, and a high tech aptitude. Expect a 50-hour work week with potential bonuses and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Prior LTL management experience preferred.
• Strong leadership: hire, coach, counsel, train, mentor staff.
• Desire to surround customers with service excellence.
• High aptitude for technology.
• Able to multi-task while staying detail oriented.
• Excellent written, listening and verbal communication.
• Willingness to work 50 hours/week on average.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee dock operations at the terminal.
• Manage loading/unloading, forklift traffic, and palletized freight picking/sortation.
• Recruit, hire, onboard, and retain terminal staff.
• Provide leadership to drivers and dock workers.
• Monitor dock production to meet KPIs.
• Maintain a safe work environment compliant with DOT/OSHA.
• Ensure company operational model compliance.
• Support a culture of excellence in service.
• Flexibility to work varying shifts as needed.
