Job summary

Central Transport LLC in Portland, OR seeks an experienced Operations Supervisor to oversee outbound dock activities and a team of up to 30 drivers. You will manage loads, ensure safety, and drive KPI performance in a fast-paced LTL environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in managing a team, preferably in transportation operations.
• Strong understanding of the LTL trucking industry.
• Prior management, dispatch and dock experience in LTL preferred.
• Leadership skills: hire, coach, mentor employees.
• Desire to deliver excellence in customer service.
• High aptitude for technology and systems.
• Ability to multi-task while staying detail oriented.
• Excellent written, listening and verbal communication.
• Willing to work 50 hours per week on average.
• Willing to work nights, weekends and varied weather.
• Capable of working under tight time constraints.

Responsibilities

• Oversee outbound operations for your section of the terminal dock.
• Manage up to 30 local LTL drivers and dock personnel.
• Build loads using independent judgement based on labor and freight.
• Ensure proper loading of carriers by cube and weight checks.
• Provide leadership and accountability to drivers and dock staff.
• Monitor dock production and KPI goals.
• Monitor hours and overtime.
• Maintain a safe work environment compliant with DOT/OSHA.
• Support operational model compliance and service excellence.
