Job summary

Kindred Hospital El Paso is a long-term acute care (LTAC) hospital focused on patients recovering from post-intensive care and complex medical conditions. The RN role delivers direct and indirect patient care through the nursing process and coordinates care with the interdisciplinary team.

You will develop comprehensive care plans with patients and families, communicate changes to physicians and supervisors, participate in discharge planning, and administer medications following the five rights,

Qualifications

• RN license in state or compact licensure (required on hire).
• Postsecondary nursing education from an accredited program (certificate/diploma).
• BLS and ACLS required or preferred.
• Six months of medical/surgical nursing experience (preferred).
• Fluent English (spoken, read, and written).

Responsibilities

• Provides planning and delivery of direct and indirect patient care using the nursing process.
• Develops nursing care plans with patient, family and interdisciplinary staff.
• Communicates changes in patient condition to physicians, Nursing Supervisor/Manager, and team.
• Participates in discharge planning and transition of care.
• Administers medications following the five rights to reduce errors.
• Documents patient information accurately and completely in the medical record.
