Job summary

Kindred Hospital San Antonio is seeking a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant to support patient care on the Patient Care Unit. You will assist with daily living activities, monitor patients, and communicate changes to the registered nurse.

Under RN supervision, you will help with positioning, vital signs, admission transfers, and basic treatments, while maintaining a safe, clean environment and responding promptly to patient needs.

Qualifications

• Must read, write and speak fluent English.
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Able to organize tasks, develop action plans, set priorities and function under stressful situations.

Responsibilities

• Observe patients and document care and response to care.
• Assist with activities of daily living.
• Record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, weight, height) and intake/output.
• Prepare room and bed for admission and transfers and ensure equipment is ready.
• Assist in admission, transfer, and discharge procedures.
• Answer call lights and respond to patient needs under RN supervision.
• Provide routine treatment procedures under the direction of an RN.
• Assist with meals and feeding; help with personal care.
• Maintain a safe and clean patient care environment.
