Job summary

Office for People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse in New Windsor, NY. Under supervision, you will support medical staff, administer medications, monitor vital signs, and help implement treatment plans in a dynamic care setting.

Responsibilities include direct patient care, documentation, and coordination with physicians and registered nurses to ensure quality outcomes for individuals served. A valid NY LPN license and driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• A valid license and current registration to practice as a practical nurse in New York State.
• OR a limited permit to practice as a practical nurse in New York State.
• OR an application on file for a limited permit to practice as a practical nurse in New York State.
• If appointed with either qualification 'B' or 'C', you must obtain your license within one year of the date your limited permit was issued.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of a registered nurse, physician, or other licensed health care provider, performs nursing care tasks and procedures.
• Assists clinicians in identifying individuals' needs and participates in plans to address goals.
• Administers medications and nursing procedures as prescribed.
• Records vital signs and monitors health status and responses to treatment.
• Prepares individuals for examinations and treatments, maintains charts and records.
• Attends to personal needs and activities of daily living of individuals.
