Job summary

The Veterans Health Administration, Chillicothe VA Medical Center, is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to join the Nursing Service and provide skilled care to veterans in Hopewell House. You will perform assigned duties to promote quality health care and positive patient experience while maintaining a safe, dignified environment.

Responsibilities include administering medications, collaborating with RNs and physicians, and educating patients and families about care plans.

Qualifications

• United States Citizenship required.
• English language proficiency is required for direct patient care.
• Graduate of an approved practical/nursing program; license required.
• Possession of active, unrestricted LPN/LVN licensure in US or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical nursing care to patients under RN/MD supervision.
• Administer prescribed medications and document responses.
• Observe and report changes in patient condition to the RN/MD.
• Educate patients and families about care plans and medications.
• Maintain safety, privacy, and dignity in patient care and interactions.
• Participate in orientation and training of less experienced staff.
