Job summary

Lutheran Services Carolinas is seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to serve as Assisted Living Unit Nurse Manager in GlenFlora, Lumberton, NC. This full-time role leads daily neighborhood operations, supports team members, and promotes high-quality resident care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Licensed Practical Nursing program.
• Current, unrestricted Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of North Carolina.
• CPR certified or ability to become CPR certified.
• One to two years of supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong communication skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Computer skills preferred; willingness to learn electronic documentation.

• Assist in directing the day-to-day functions of neighborhood activities, including planning services, programs, and activities.
• Participate in the facility’s Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement program, attending committee meetings and preparing reports as requested.
• Perform administrative duties such as completing forms, reports, evaluations, and investigations.
• Provide leadership to personnel, including coaching, training, and mentoring new employees, developing consistent work assignments, and completing performance evaluations.
• Conduct daily rounds, observations, and assessments.
• Demonstrate knowledge of emergency care, disaster and evacuation policies and procedures, and safety programs.
• Review resident records periodically to ensure completion, accuracy, and adequate reflection of the resident’s care and condition.
• Consult with physicians in providing resident care and participate in resident care plans.
• Meet with residents and/or family members as necessary, following up on grievances and ensuring all residents are treated with dignity, kindness, and respect.
• Participate in the infection control program and ensure established safety guidelines are followed.
• Honor resident choice, allowing residents to direct their own care and make personal choices regarding daily schedules and activities.
• Reflect Lutheran Services Carolinas mission, vision, values, and customer service standards in daily interactions.

• Physical exertion involving pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 35 pounds; occasionally lifting weights up to 50 pounds.

• Ability to assist in the repositioning and transferring of individuals of varying weights following established safe lifting procedures.
