Job summary

Aperion Care in South Kingstown, RI seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide direct resident care and supervise nursing assistants per federal and state standards. You will ensure quality care and support the Director of Nursing in daily operations.

Responsibilities include medication administration, shift leadership, maintaining care plans, and coordinating with interdepartmental staff to create a warm, safe, and compliant environment for residents.

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse with current unencumbered state license.
• Must read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Must be able to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
• Knowledge of nursing & medical practices, and related laws/regulations.
• Current CPR Certification is required.
• Experience in Long Term Care is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing assistants and plan shift services.
• Complete admission/transfer/discharge paperwork and transcribe physician orders.
• Prepare and administer medications as ordered by the physician.
• Develop rapport with inter-departmental staff to ensure quality care.
• Monitor safety and privacy of resident information and ensure confidentiality.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
