Job summary

Aperion Care in Rhode Island is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide direct nursing care to residents and supervise nursing assistants on the unit. The role requires leadership to ensure high-quality care in accordance with federal, state, and local standards and as directed by the Director of Nursing.

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse with current unencumbered state license.
• Must read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Must be able to make independent decisions when warranted.
• Must be knowledgeable of nursing practices, procedures, and related laws/regulations for nursing care facilities.
• Current CPR Certification is required.
• Experience in Long Term Care is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing assistants and supervise shift activities.
• Complete and file required admission, transfer, and discharge records and physicians' orders.
• Prepare and administer medications as ordered by the physician.
• Maintain good working rapport with inter-departmental staff to ensure nursing services meet residents' needs.
• Provide leadership and training within the unit and participate in rounds with physicians as needed.
• Ensure confidentiality of resident care information and privacy of records.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
