Job summary

Community Health in Rutland, VT seeks a full-time LPN for the Express Care office. Provide professional nursing care following established policies and procedures. Responsibilities include medications, vital signs, and coordinating appointment scheduling with emergency priority where needed.

Ideal candidate is a graduate of an accredited LPN program with a current Vermont license and preferably 1 year of office-based nursing experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited LPN school of nursing program.
• Maintains current Vermont State License.
• Documented medical experience with medications, patient education, examination, diagnosis and treatment procedures.
• One year of professional nursing experience preferred, preferably in an office setting.

Responsibilities

• Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards.
• Takes and records patients' vital signs, immunization status, and brief history.
• Cleans and autoclaves procedural equipment and instruments.
• Observes patient condition and reports to physician regarding drug/treatment responses.
• Oversees appointment scheduling, prioritizing emergencies.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Provide professional nursing care for office patients following established policies and procedures.

FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION

• Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards.
• Takes and records patients vital signs, immunization status, and brief history.
• Cleans and autoclaves procedural equipment and instruments.
• Observes records and reports to physician patient's condition and reaction to drugs and treatments, according to the nursing process.
• Oversees appointment scheduling, assures priority is given to patients in emergency situations.

SKILLS REQUIRED FOR SUCCESS

LPN

• Graduate of an accredited LPN school of nursing program.
• Maintains current Vermont State License.
• Documented medical experience with full knowledge of medications and their effects, patient education examination, diagnostic and treatment procedures.
• One year of professional experiences preferred, preferably in an office setting.
