Job summary

Great River Care Center is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse to cover a minimum of 16 hours per month, with 8 hours on weekends. RN base pay is $40–$42.50 per hour, plus $4 extra per hour after 2pm and an additional $5 per hour on weekends. Pick your own hours and enjoy a free meal during shift, with CPR renewal required.

Responsibilities include supervising resident care, reporting to the charge nurse, and ensuring policy compliance. Iowa RN licensure and CPR certification are required.

Responsibilities

• Follow established nursing standards and facility policies.
• Interpret policies to Resident Care Technicians, residents, families and physicians.
• Supervise and evaluate direct resident care and initiate corrective action as needed.
• Receive and relay reports for follow-up actions at shift change.
• Provide reports to the oncoming nurse with necessary follow-up info.
• Conduct resident rounds daily and escalate issues to nursing leadership.
• Identify safety hazards and respond within Quality of Life Policies.
• Provide clinical supervision of CNAs delivering resident care.

Job Details:

PRN status nurse which includes 16 hours a month minimum with 8 hours being on the weekend.

• Compensation: RN: $40-$42.50 base pay. LPN: $28-$30.50 base pay. PLUS $4.00 additional per hour shift difference starting at 2pm. PLUS $5.00 additional per hour on weekends.

Essential Functions

1. Follow established standards of nursing practice and implement facility policies and procedures.
2. Interpret existing policies and procedures to Resident Care Technicians, residents, families and physicians.
3. Supervise and evaluate all direct resident care and initiate corrective action as necessary.
4. Receive report from the nurse you are relieving and record sufficient information to implement follow-up action as necessary.
5. Provide report to nurse coming on duty, including sufficient information for follow-up action if necessary.
6. Conduct resident rounds daily, reporting problems to the charge nurse or Director of Nursing, if necessary, and initiate corrective action.
7. Identify resident problems, emergency situations and respond appropriately within the Quality of Life Policies of Healthcare of Iowa.
8. Identify safety hazards and take appropriate action.
9. Follow, supervise, and evaluate the implementation of the Resident’s Rights Program.
10. Provide clinical supervision of CNA's giving direct resident care.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited Registered Nurse program. Licensure/Certification in the state of Iowa required.

CPR Certified.
