Job summary

Great River Care Center in Iowa is seeking a Nursing Home Charge Nurse. The role is Monday-Thursday 5PM-5AM with 30-40 hours per week. Compensation for LPNs is $32–$34.50 per hour, with a $2,500 sign-on bonus and a free meal during shift. CPR renewal is required.

The position involves supervising resident care, ensuring policy adherence, and coordinating communication between shift staff and physicians to maintain quality of life and safety for residents.

Qualifications

• Must be graduate of an accredited Registered Nurse program.
• Licensed in Iowa as RN.
• CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Follow established standards of nursing practice and implement facility policies and procedures.
• Supervise and evaluate all direct resident care and initiate corrective action as necessary.
• Provide report to nurse coming on duty, including sufficient information for follow-up action if necessary.
• Conduct resident rounds daily and report problems to the charge nurse or Director of Nursing.

Essential Functions:

1. Follow established standards of nursing practice and implement facility policies and procedures.


2. Interpret existing policies and procedures to Resident Care Technicians, residents, families and physicians.


3. Supervise and evaluate all direct resident care and initiate corrective action as necessary.


4. Receive report from the nurse you are relieving and record sufficient information to implement follow-up action as necessary.


5. Provide report to nurse coming on duty, including sufficient information for follow-up action if necessary.


6. Conduct resident rounds daily, reporting problems to the charge nurse or Director of Nursing, if necessary, and initiate corrective action.


7. Identify resident problems, emergency situations and respond appropriately within the Quality of Life Policies of Healthcare of Iowa.


8. Identify safety hazards and take appropriate action.


9. Follow, supervise, and evaluate the implementation of the Residents Rights Program.


10. Provide clinical supervision of CNA's giving direct resident care.

Requirements:

Graduate of an accredited Registered Nurse program. Licensure/Certification in the state of Iowa required.

CPR Certified.
