Job summary

Alternatives Inc. in Connecticut is hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide medical support under the Director of Nursing.

The role requires an active CT LPN license and adherence to Connecticut scope of practice within our eight-program setting. You will administer medications, monitor health, and coordinate with direct support professionals to ensure safe, respectful care for individuals with developmental disabilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid CT Driver's License.
• Drive Agency Vehicle (Mini Vans and High Top Transit Vans).
• Ability to pass a background check.
• CPR Certified or Eligible to become CPR Certified.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive medical support to each supported individual.
• Administer medications and treatments as directed; document effects.
• Take vital signs and monitor health status; attend physician appointments when needed.
• Ensure care is delivered within CT LPN scope of practice; RN oversight is provided.
• Maintain safety and report any abuse or neglect; complete required documentation.
• Assist with daily living activities and coordinate with DSPs to support health.
