Job summary

CSL Vifor College Station seeks a qualified clinical professional to evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures. Under general supervision, you will interview donors, review medical histories, and determine eligibility to donate plasma.

You will provide limited emergency care, interpret test results, counsel donors on reactive results, and escalate critical cases to Center Physician, following SOPs and local requirements.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school or naturopathic training program.
• Foreign medical graduates must be licensed as a physician or state-certified EMT.
• For NY: state licensure or MD/DO/certification in the application state or reciprocal state.
• Minimum of one year in a health care environment.
• Experience in plasma/whole blood collection or regulated environments preferred.
• Ability to assess physical findings such as heart/lung sounds and signs of drug use.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures.
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff including administering medications per licensure.
• Interview donors and perform medical histories to determine donation eligibility.
• Collaborate with Center Medical Director to answer questions on donor suitability.
• Review test results and determine continued donor suitability; assess donor symptoms.
• Notify and counsel donors about reactive test results and refer for follow-up.
• Provide routine care following SOPs; escalate critical situations to Center Physician or local providers.
