Job summary

CSL Vifor Springfield seeks a healthcare professional to evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis and to provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff. You will interview donors, review medical histories, and determine donation eligibility under supervision.

In collaboration with the Center Medical Director, you will address medical questions, interpret test results, and refer donors for follow-up when needed.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school or naturopathic medical training program.
• If graduation is from a foreign allopathic or osteopathic medical school, must also currently be licensed as a physician or state certification as an emergency medical technician.
• For NY: current state licensure or certification as an RN, MD or DO in the state you are applying for work or in a reciprocal state.
• Minimum of one (1) year relevant experience in a health care environment.
• Experience in a plasma or whole blood collection center or other regulated environment preferred.
• Ability to make and analyze a physical assessment of heart, lung sounds, signs of drug use, etc.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures under supervision.
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff including administering medication or treatments as licensed.
• Interview donors and perform medical history reviews to determine suitability to donate plasma.
• Collaborate with Center Medical Director to answer medical questions and inform staff about donor suitability.
• Review test results and assess donor symptoms for continued donation eligibility.
• Counsel donors regarding reactive test results and refer to community facilities for follow-up.
• Provide routine care following SOPs and escalate critical situations to a Center Physician.
