Job summary

Penn Medicine is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide unit-based staff support focused on implementation of IBPs and transferring skills. The LPN will model effective communication, reinforce routines, assist with behavior tracking, and support consistency across shifts under leadership direction.

Responsibilities include gathering relevant patient information, supporting care plans, using de-escalation scripts, and maintaining patient dignity and safety.

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse required
• Current LPN licensure (PA or eligible)
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification

Responsibilities

• Gather patient information for nursing assessment and assist with care planning
• Model and reinforce IBP strategies during routine care
• Use scripts and de-escalation steps to manage patient behavior
• Support data collection of objective behavior metrics
• Coach peers at the bedside and orient new staff to IBP strategies
• Participate in huddles/case conferences and relay observations to inform plans
• Maintain resident dignity, privacy, and safety, and follow policies
